Overview

Due to the fact that the province is in a mountainous region, this provides excellent ground for wildlife. Wildlife either around the fringes of lakes or in the plains or mountain sides are under protection, and hunting is strictly forbidden. These areas of Hamadan province are: the heights of Oldooz, Khan Garmaz-e-Sarveh and Ahangaran, Booqati, Kharaqan-e-Asad Abad, Jeyhoon Abad (Dasht) and Nashr. Wildlife species that are forbidden from hunting are, wild sheep, wild goat, ram, fox, weasel, the brown bear, partridge and other bird species.
