Historical Ice-Pits – Semnan

These places were storage compartments for ice in the winter season, so as to be used during the hot summer months. The most important of which are named as, ice house of Atashgah locality, Biabanak ice house, (village of Biabanak), Khazaneh ice house (Garmeh Village of Semnan), ice house of Mian Abad Village of Shahrood, Mazaj Ice-pit, Abbas Abad Village Ice-pit, Shasefeed Village Ice-pit (Garmsar), ice-pit of Kardovan Village of Garmsar, and ice-pit of the city of Sorkheh.
